On September 24th and 25th, onWater team members Lesley Agostinelli and Will Moore hit the water, and the pavement, to lend a hand in local conservation efforts.
In eastern Pennsylvania, the Tulpehocken Chapter of Trout Unlimited hosted a 5k fun run to raise funds for local stream restoration, conservation education in classrooms, and Trout in the Classroom; a program where Trout Unlimited helps schools raise salmonids until they are ready to be released into local streams.
“Tully’s TU dedication to the conservation, protection, and restoration of my hometown’s cold water streams is something I hold close to my heart,” said Lesley. Reverberating the importance of local conservation efforts.

Conservation efforts were in full swing in western Massachusetts this weekend, as well. Anglers from around the region joined together for the 35th annual Farmington River Cleanup, and Will came out with more than enough garbage to fill his car’s trunk. River cleanups go much farther than beautifying the river. They also help water quality, and the fish that call the Farmington home are better off thanks to the locals.
Acts of conservation, no matter how small, can have lasting effects on fisheries and the communities that surround them. Whether it’s educating the youth on fisheries, or making the river a little cleaner, no small part goes unnoticed.
