About the Gallatin River Task Force

The GRTF wants a healthy Gallatin River Watershed for future generations. They partner with the greater community to lead conservation and inspire stewardship of the Gallatin River Watershed. The Task Force utilizes the Watershed Approach to resource conservation. In general, the Watershed Approach is tied to a distinct land area or hydrologic boundary, ensures broad stakeholder involvement and inclusivity, is community-based and community-driven, relies on local leadership, encourages collaboration with partners, strives for consensus, and avoids litigation as a conservation strategy. They’re solving problems across three focus areas: ecological health of river systems, water conservation, and wastewater management.
