If the introduction of the MAPWATERS Act isn’t enough to get you excited about more access to fishing, paddling, hiking, and more on federal lands and waters, then the EXPLORE Act will. Both of these newly introduced pieces of legislation will help you find places to fish near you.

Almost 600 million people spent time in national public lands and waters in 2022. They went fishing, paddling, hiking, biking, camping, birding, and much more. The Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act works to increase recreation opportunities, improve and modernize outdoor infrastructure, and make it easier for more Americans to enjoy the public lands they own.

The bill is bipartisan and hopes to give the $1.1 trillion outdoor reaction industry more tools to help more people enjoy fishing on public lands and waters and to help you find places to fish near you.
