A varied outlook for summer streamflows across the West

Although most of the US West appears headed for a dry summer, a round of late spring storms brought some much needed moisture and snow to several states and drainages.

The few bright spots in the West are portions of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and a swath of the northern Cascades in Oregon and Washington.

Most of Oregon, southern Idaho, and southwest Colorado have a lot of ground to make up and with a few more weeks for the potential of spring rains, there is still cause to be cautiously optimistic to move the needle.
